Zinc Eye Bolts

Eye Bolts are a special type of fastener that features a forged circular-shaped head and a threaded end. In a standard unit, the shank (non-threaded portion) is centered below the mid-point of the circle. However, there are other specialty eye bolts where the shank is off to one side of the circle.

This type of bolt is typically used to secure wires, strings, chains, cables and other similar materials. For instance, this can be used to support plumbing pies and ductworks that are installed in the ceiling or beam. These may also be used to hold hanging objects such as a flowerpot on the porch ceiling or artworks by the wall.

Types of Eye Bolts:

Eye bolts can either be forged or welded. A forged eye bolt is made by bending the top portion of the steel to form a loop that does not completely close. A welded eye bolt, on the other hand, features a fully closed circular head that is welded to the base.
